Sure, the news was terrible for those who live for jolly cooperation or PVP shenanigans. That those servers would stay offline until after the release of Elden Ring. One that the Dark Souls community and myself didn’t want to see - that there was no ETA on when the servers would be back online. Shortly after that exchange, the Dark Souls Twitter account had posted an update. To which I replied that I had been following that account since it was willed into existence. When I asked one CM, which I won’t name, all I was told to do was follow the Dark Souls Twitter page. After taking those Dark Souls PC servers offline, we didn’t hear anything from the company or its community managers. Regardless, the damage was done and all the Dark Souls PC servers were down for the count.įast forward a few days later, Bandai Namco was radio silent over the ordeal. Thankfully, this exploit, while known, didn’t get to cause any damage. All thanks to a rather nasty RCE exploit that allowed someone to gain access to your computer and steal valuable information, and wreck that very same computer. Today marks the 66th day that Bandai Namco was forced to take all of the PC Dark Souls servers offline.
